Wanderlust Wednesday :: Portland, Maine, USA

One of my life goals is to see all 50 U.S. states.  I’ve done a decent job so far, but I still have a bit to go.  One of the areas that I have completely ignored up to this point in my life is the Northeast.  So, it’s no surprise that I am wishing to visit the eastern Portland.

I don’t know why I have ignored it because, from what I’ve heard, I think I will really enjoy it.  The fishing villages, the rocky coastlines and lighthouses.  It just sounds wonderful.

It’s a coastal town, but the mountains aren’t far away either.  There’s a thriving art community and New England charm. One of my favorite things to do while in a city is explore and experience it through food. From what I’ve read, they have amazing food and restaurants.

I’m a sucker for lighthouses.

  1. You would love Nova Scotia too – I have always wanted to go back there. Lighthouses, little fishing villages, quaint eatery’s and beautiful landscapes.
