Let’s venture outside of American music for a bit and talk about French electro-pop. Yes.
Yelle is a three member group who had its humble beginnings on MySpace in 2005 (when that actually worked and attracted record label attention). They since have released 2 albums which have done well in France and also gained them international attention.
All their lyrics are in French, which I actually really appreciate. They haven’t succumbed (yet) to pressures to sing in English. Why would they? People can appreciate their music for what it is. From what I’ve read, their lyrics are sarcastic and playful (hmm wonder why I like that).
Plus, I can totally dance all night long to them. Huge plus in my book.
Plus, this guy dances to one of their remixes…
