Wanderlust Wednesday :: Perugia, Italy

Italy is on the top of my list for countries I want to see. There is so much that intrigues me about it from the cafe and coffee culture to the influence of art and culture to the wonderful food.

Today’s feature city is Perugia, Italy between Florence and Rome right in the middle of the country. The city sits on a lush, green hillside and is greatly influenced by its medieval past. The winding, tight roads give way to beautiful open town spaces. The blend between historic and modern is said to be done beautifully.

Perugia is also thought to be an artistic center with some Renaissance artists hailing from the area. Raphael produced 5 paintings in this very city. Other things that Perugia boasts is a well known chocolate factory (and festival) and a world famous jazz festival.

Oh dear, how breathtaking is this shot. Take me there now, please?
